The UK Dharma Celebration is the inspiration of the internationally renowned Buddhist master Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Geshe Kelsang is the founder and Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU), a network of over 1000 Centres worldwide, and the author of 20 highly acclaimed books on Kadampa Buddhism. Through his tireless work to provide all the conditions necessary to enter, make progress on and complete the Buddhist path to peace and happiness, people across the world now have the opportunity to study and practise the timeless wisdom of Buddha's teachings in a way that is especially suited to our modern view and way of life.
The empowerment and teachings will be given by Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab, the Deputy Spiritual Director of the NKT-IKBU and Resident Teacher at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre. Gen-la Khyenrab has studied and practised Kadampa Buddhism for over 25 years under the guidance of his Spiritual Guide, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. His wisdom, kindness and humility show a perfect example of how to follow the Buddhist way of life.
